Statutory 14-Day Right of Withdrawal

Consumers purchasing eligible goods through balzac-parisbx.shop generally have the legal right to withdraw from the purchase without providing a reason within 14 calendar days after receiving the goods.

Where several goods from the same order are delivered separately, the applicable period generally begins following receipt of the last relevant item.

To exercise the statutory withdrawal right, the customer must communicate an unambiguous decision to withdraw before the withdrawal period expires.

Customers may do this by contacting:

Email: info@balzac-parisbx.shop

A customer does not need to provide a reason for exercising the statutory withdrawal right. Merely refusing delivery or returning a parcel without an accompanying statement of withdrawal may not by itself constitute a valid exercise of the statutory right.

Online Withdrawal Functionality

Where French law requires it, balzac-parisbx.shop must maintain an easily accessible online functionality enabling eligible consumers to exercise their withdrawal right electronically.

The functionality must allow the consumer to identify the relevant contract, submit the withdrawal request online and receive acknowledgement of the request on a durable medium.

Customers may also contact info@balzac-parisbx.shop to communicate an unambiguous withdrawal decision.

Returning Goods After Withdrawal

After notifying us of a statutory withdrawal, the customer must generally send the relevant goods back no later than 14 calendar days after communicating the withdrawal decision.

Customers should contact info@balzac-parisbx.shop for the appropriate return instructions and return destination before dispatching a parcel.

Requesting return instructions is intended to facilitate correct processing and does not remove a consumer's statutory right to exercise withdrawal through another legally valid method.

Customers should not send goods to an address shown on an original shipping parcel unless that address has been confirmed as the correct return destination.

Condition of Returned Goods

A consumer exercising the statutory right of withdrawal may inspect and handle goods to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, similarly to the examination that would reasonably be possible in a physical store.

Customers are encouraged to return products with accessories, labels and original packaging where reasonably possible because doing so facilitates identification and processing.

However, statutory withdrawal rights are not automatically lost merely because original packaging has been opened.

Where a consumer handles a product beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, the consumer may be responsible for any legally recoverable reduction in value resulting from that excessive handling.

Return Shipping Costs for Change-of-Mind Returns

Unless balzac-parisbx.shop expressly agrees otherwise, the direct cost of returning goods following a change-of-mind statutory withdrawal is the customer's responsibility.

French rules permit the direct cost of return to be borne by the consumer where the consumer has been properly informed of that responsibility.

We recommend using a trackable shipping method and retaining evidence of dispatch until the return and refund process has been completed.

Defective, Damaged, Incorrect or Non-Conforming Products

The change-of-mind rules described above are separate from the consumer's statutory remedies for defective, damaged, incorrect or otherwise non-conforming products.

If a customer receives an item that appears damaged, defective, incorrect, incomplete or materially inconsistent with the contract, the customer should contact:

info@balzac-parisbx.shop

Customers are encouraged to provide the order number, a description of the problem and photographs where reasonably useful.

Where the problem is covered by mandatory consumer law, balzac-parisbx.shop will provide the remedy required by applicable law.

For qualifying goods sold to consumers in France, the legal guarantee of conformity may generally be invoked for two years from delivery.

Costs that must legally be borne by the seller in connection with a valid statutory conformity claim will not be imposed on the consumer.

Refunds Following Statutory Withdrawal

Where a consumer validly exercises the statutory withdrawal right, the seller must generally reimburse payments received from the consumer, including the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method offered for the relevant order.

Because balzac-parisbx.shop provides free standard shipping, there will normally be no standard outbound shipping charge to reimburse.

If a customer voluntarily selected a more expensive delivery method than the least expensive standard method offered, any additional premium delivery cost is not necessarily refundable.

Refund Timing

Following a valid statutory withdrawal, reimbursement is generally due no later than 14 days after we are informed of the withdrawal decision.

For a sale of goods, however, reimbursement may legally be withheld until we receive the returned goods or the customer supplies evidence that the goods have been sent back, whichever occurs first.

After the refund is issued by us, the time required for the amount to appear in the customer's account may depend on the customer's bank, card issuer or payment provider.

Refund Method

Unless otherwise agreed with the customer and permitted by law, refunds will generally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction.

A customer will not be charged a refund-processing fee merely for exercising a statutory withdrawal right.

Exceptions to the Statutory Withdrawal Right

French law recognises certain exceptions to the statutory withdrawal right.

Depending on the products offered by the store, exceptions can include goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized goods, certain sealed goods that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons after being unsealed, rapidly perishable goods and certain other categories expressly excluded by law.

An exception will be applied only where legally applicable.

Order Cancellations Before Dispatch

Customers who wish to cancel an order before dispatch should contact:

info@balzac-parisbx.shop

as soon as possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate cancellation requests that are received before fulfilment, but an order may already have entered processing or shipment.

Where cancellation before dispatch cannot be completed, this does not affect any statutory withdrawal right available after delivery.

Exchanges

Where an exchange service is operationally available, customers may contact customer service to ask about exchanging an item.

An exchange procedure does not replace or restrict statutory withdrawal or conformity rights.

Where an exchange cannot be arranged, a customer may return an eligible product in accordance with this policy and place a separate order for another item.

Unclaimed or Refused Parcels

Failure to collect a parcel or simple refusal of delivery does not automatically constitute a valid statutory declaration of withdrawal. French guidance specifically requires the consumer to communicate an intention to withdraw.

Customers who no longer want their order should therefore communicate their withdrawal decision through the online withdrawal functionality or by email.
